    Planning route survey to ensure the quickest way to the job-site

 

    Recovering property corners or evidence there of using deeds and or plats

 

    Setting up traverse, clearing brush, trees etc. for line of site

 

    Setting up backsight, foresight, total station and data collector accurately and efficiently

 

    Performing axis test to ensure acceptable tolerances for the total  station

 

    Performing peg test to ensure acceptable tolerances for the level

 

    Turning angles or multiple sets of angles to ensure accuracy for  horizontal control

 

    Taking 3-wire level readings to ensure accuracy for vertical control

 

    Figuring means for horizontal and vertical control

 

    Checking traverse and level run for closure

 

    Rotate and translate traverse and level run to the relevant information

 

    Collecting data pertaining to scope of work and minimum technical  standards

 

    Keeping neat and accurate field notes

 

    Performing construction lay-out for large and small projects

 

    Reading construction plans to figure grades for building slabs and  foundations, inverts for storm and sewer structures, cross slope, vertical  curves and slope stakes for roadways, ponds etc.

 

    Lay-out and grading stakes according to construction plans, field notes,  scope of work and minimum technical standards
