Managed, coordinated and developed up to 4 field crews, CAD and survey staff in North Carolina and New York in various types of Surveying and Mapping Projects. Implemented training standards and maintained constant communication to improve productivity while improving staff morale and the respect of workers for each other. Strong involvement with marketing of existing and new clients and have experienced project negotiation skills. Extensive experience on Military Bases in North Carolina along with State, County and City Agencies. Worked with numerous survey technology applications most recently including CAD (Land Desktop Development Software), Trimble GPS and Trimble Instrumentation with Trimble Survey Data Collection. GPS Experience includes Pathfinder for GIS Data Acquisition, RTK and Static Networking. Help to develop QA/QC Standards for maintaining sub-meter accuracies using Trimble Pathfinder in adverse conditions. Instituted and supervised technical staff for Hydrographic Surveying using HyPack Software with ODOM Echosounders for the company Hydrographic Survey Vessel and smaller boats. Overall responsibilities include targeting and marketing of new clients, proposals for new projects, scheduling, project tracking and Quality Control and Assurance to meet client’s expectations while keeping staff focused and maintain billing. Not afraid to learn and is continuously open to new technology and ideas.
The Position Survey Manager and Adjunct Instructor at the local Community Colleges provided experience in working with people of varied backgrounds, experiences and capabilities which included Corporate Management, Company employees (including supervised staff), College Departmental Personnel, and Students in the classroom, Clients and the staff at the numerous Municipal Agencies that were encountered each day. Success was realized by creating an enthusiastic team who were willing to learn and get the job done. The positive relationships that were developed in working with the municipal agencies are also a measure of success in dealing with people. Classroom teaching experience provided insight into working with people of varying capabilities so they would reach their goals. At the community college level, this allowed also to be involved not only with people just entering the work force from High School but also those looking for second career opportunities and leaving Military Service. Education/training of staff was a priority in creating a positive attitude.
