Before being considered for hire candidates must pass a civil service examination. If you hold an ABET accredited four year Surveying or

Geomatics Engineering degree, a California PLS, LSIT or EIT you can take the transportation Surveyor exam. If you lack the above you may

be able to take the Transportation Engineering Technician exam.
